Samira Boon

Samira Boon shapes the changing environment with her studio. By specializing in adaptive textile structures, she optimizes the sensory experience of the architectural space, the indoor climate and the acoustics.
After completing her training as an architect, she lived in Japan for four years, where she started her design studio in 2004. Her knowledge of Asian culture was further strengthened during a one-year stay in Seoul to work with Korean companies. An interdisciplinary team conducts research from the studio in Amsterdam into innovative production techniques, constructive form optimizations and material development. For the development of the
biocomposite BioFold from large textile waste flows, she and the project partners received the MIT subsidy
